Ramesh Rajan is Senior Vice president, Financial Operations of Interpublic Group, a diversified Marketing Services Company listed in NYSE (IPG).
From October 2003 until Sept 2006, Ramesh was Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer of McCann Worldgroup, one of the world's largest Marketing Communications companies with operations in over 130 countries. McCann's businesses include advertising, media, CRM, event marketing, on-line and healthcare marketing. McCann Worldgroup is part of The Interpublic Group of Companies.
Prior to joining McCann in 2003, Ramesh held positions at Interpublic Corporate in the areas of Planning, Budgets, M&A, and Strategy Development. Prior to that, he was EVP, Chief Financial Officer of Initiative Media Worldwide. Prior to Interpublic's acquisition of True North Communications in June 2001, Ramesh was EVP, Operations and Business Development for True North. Until December 31, 1999, he was Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of Bozell Worldwide.
Ramesh joined Kenyon & Eckhardt in 1985. After their merger with Bozell & Jacobs, he was made Director of Finance for Bozell Sawyer Miller Group. In 1988, he became Finance Director of Bozell's flagship New York office. In 1990, he moved into the position of Chief Financial Officer of International Operations. Between 1993 and 1995, he worked largely out of the London International Headquarters of Bozell. From there, he participated in the growth and development of Bozell's network in Europe and Asia, before returning to New York in 1996 to become Worldwide Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, he continued to be heavily involved in Bozell's international operations.
Ramesh began his advertising career as a Systems Analyst at Young and Rubicam (Y&R) in the US, where he rose quickly to lead technology services in the Australian office. That assignment led him to the post of Technology Director for newly created Dentsu Young and Rubicam's (DYR) US operations. After successfully completing the computerization of DYR's New York and Los Angeles operations, he was made Finance Director of the Los Angeles office.
Ramesh holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the AC College of Technology in Madras, India and a Master of Science in Industrial Management from the Indian Institute of Technology, also in Madras.
Ramesh and his wife, Asha, are avid bridge players who travel frequently. They reside in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey.
